iAnanas was founded by Naresh Purohit, who has called Germany home since 2011. But his heart has always remained connected to the artisans of his hometown, Jodhpur, India—a city famous for its rich tradition of handcrafted wooden goods. Growing up
surrounded by the art of woodworking, Naresh saw firsthand the beauty and skill that went into each piece. But he also saw something troubling: these master artisans, the very people behind the products, were often underpaid and
overworked, with no access to the most basic benefits like healthcare or education for their children.

This disconnect—between the value of the craft and the reality of the
artisan’s life—is what inspired Naresh to start iAnanas. His mission is to change the way we think about the things we buy by helping customers connect with the real people and real stories behind each handcrafted piece.

A Personal Mission to Make a Difference

The problem is simple: traditional artisans, especially in rural India, are often exploited by layers of middlemen. The crafts they pour their heart into are sold for a fraction of their worth, and the artisans see very little of that profit. Naresh’s goal with iAnanas is to cut out these middlemen, providing direct
access to the artisans, so they can earn what they truly deserve. For
customers, this means genuine, handmade products, full of character,
crafted by people whose stories are just as valuable as the items themselves.

To make this vision a reality, iAnanas takes a unique approach to business. We import in bulk, bringing full containers of handcrafted goods from India to Europe, reducing logistics costs and ensuring the entire process is as sustainable and efficient as possible. We sell directly via online channel. This not only minimizes costs but allows us to offer fair prices to both the
customer and the artisan, while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship.
